Why does it end so suddenly? The silence falls so much like dripping water. Smoke billows and then twists upward. It forms hands and fingers that try and catch air as they float upward- Gently.
Never has quiet seemed to violent. Cars rush past- Ashphalt, grass, The cold air burns. I cough. Sputtering, angry spasms shake and take hold.
Walking back, Cool, calm- One foot, then the next. Hands shake in their pockets, Eyes dart and stay turned to the ground.
